need a room
private bath. rec weed. medicaid that covers hrt. 420 · queer/trans household · 21+ colorado was home base. i’m looking farther now because the place i’m in made stopping hrt the price of staying housed. i can’t do that.
my story
i’ve been making art and existing online long enough to have a name people recognize and still not have the kind of housing that doesn’t wobble. i work from home. drawing. streaming when i can. medical stuff when i have to. hrt since may 2026. disability paperwork in progress. i’ve had months where snap, an irs bill, and a medical appointment all showed up in the same breath. i still delivered work. i am not fleeing a sitcom villain. i need a roof that does not come with “go off your meds and you can stay.”
why now
current housing made stopping hrt a requirement. planned parenthood i was using closed. i’m piecing care together and i need a state where medicaid actually covers gender-affirming care. i also need the weed to be legal for pain management, because i am not going back in the closet about that either. i need to stop spending spoons on “is this roof still a roof.”
what i need
THE ROOM — private bedroom. door that closes. private toilet and shower — not a shared hall bath. that last one is medical, not princess. some of my bathroom time is long and not optional. i don’t want to be the person on the only toilet when somebody else has to go. a small attached bath, a half-bath that’s mine, even a weird closet bathroom is fine. i do not need a spa. the rest of the room can be tiny. storage-room energy, closet-with-a-door, leftover office. bed + a desk is enough.
THE HOUSE — 21+ only. no minors. no debate. lgbtq+ safe. trans-competent. not weird about nsfw art / sex work existing behind a closed door. 420. i vape nicotine and thc. i can keep it to my room or outside if that’s the house rule. internet that actually works. this is how i eat.
THE BODY IN THE HOUSE — no car. no parking ask. no garage. i eat little. i drink rarely. i am not taking over the fridge. agoraphobia: i live in the room on purpose. i am not underfoot. my voice carries. a real door helps. i’ll work with you on it.
MONEY — freelance art (vgen + direct + streams/merch). about $1500 most months, lumpy. realistically i can do about $600–800/month if utilities are included. if you’re under that because the room is small and you have it, say so. i would rather be honest than bounce a surprise. month-to-month or a normal roommate agreement is fine. references from clients/friends if you want them.
PEOPLE / PETS — i’m poly. partners are not moving in. overnight guests like adults: we talk first. no pets from my side.
what i don’t need
a house manager, a parent, or a kink dispenser with a spare bedroom. “we’re lgbtq friendly” from people who will misgender me after week two. a party house, a clean-freak museum, or a dry campus. opinions on my art, my body, or my meds unless i ask. anyone asking me to hide that i draw adult work. i already keep it off shared screens and out of shared spaces.
what it’s like living with me
homebody. headphones on. door closed when i’m working. nsfw streams stay in the room. you are not in them. you are not asked to be. i clean up after myself. i cook simply when i cook. depression and pain days exist. i go quiet. i am not dangerous. i am not a project. affectionate with people i’m close to. invisible with people i’m not. i will not force friend-shaped closeness. i like dumb movies, vr, drawing at weird hours, and not having a fight about dishes that already got done.
where i can go
three things in the same state: adult-use weed legal. hrt i can actually keep getting. medicaid that covers gender-affirming care. PRIORITY — california · colorado · washington · oregon · illinois · minnesota · new york · new jersey · massachusetts · maryland · connecticut · vermont · maine · rhode island · new mexico · delaware · michigan · nevada · alaska · dc. SOFTER PASS — arizona · missouri · ohio · montana. weed’s legal. medicaid/care is a lot harder. only if someone local really knows a path.
the ask
if you’ve got a spare room, or you know a 420-friendly queer house with a private bath, i would love to hear from you. even a “my friend in portland has a weird back room” is useful. i’m not asking for a rescue. i’m asking for a small closed door in a place where i can stay on my meds and not pretend the weed isn’t part of how i get through the pain.
how to message
bluesky dms: @kreep.gay. if you write “hey” with no city, no rent, no “private bath or not,” i will assume you’re not serious. i will video-chat before i visit. i will not send money to hold a room. i will not meet in a private house as the first step. thank you for reading this far. means a lot.
